What could be causing my android phone to blank out for days periodically? It has very few/basic apps installed.

Same problem with my android phone, battery each day nonstop very low, sometimes work very slowly , and often have problem with lack of memory. I was thinking to restore my phone on factory settings.

It could be a battery issue and it could just be a system issue.

To check if it is the battery, you should try conditioning the battery (you should do this at night while you sleep when people are less likely to call you.)
Completely drain your battery, if you can get it to 0% that might work better but it doesn't make too much of a difference either way.
While your phone is OFF, put it on the charger and charge it to 100%

Conditioning the battery will also reboot the phone which might also fix the problem.

If its a system issue you may have to do a factory reset but I would use that as a very last resort.

I don't think it's a battery issue since that would turn off your phone completely, it's probably something related to software that doesn't go well with your phone's hardware. Try reinstalling the OS.
