Udacity Courses

Postby skysnap » 11 Sep 2016, 06:20

I have attended two courses from this site. And it seems they have really good content there. And the best part about this is that the content is free of cost. They only charge for the instructor grading and the certificate.

Have you taken courses at udacity?

A nice concept. Thanks for sharing.
Mhhh. I don't understand this part. Who pays? For what?

The site requires you to pay only when you want certifications. and the credits are transferred to the university. This applies to those who are interested in using their degree for getting the job. That's what I meant in that part.

You don't have to answer this question. But, what type of content is on this site? I'm wondering, can I learn coding here?

Yes I did two of the following courses -

1. Android development for Beginners. (Katherine and chawla)
2. Startup Fundamentals (Steve blank)

Currently I have "Advanced android development" and "Java Fundamentals" in queue which I wish to finish soon.

This seems a very interesting and useful site. It is available to all users across the world?

Yes it is available all across the world. No discrimination of any kind. And if you pay for degree courses then your degree is as valid as your native country degree. As the courses there are accredited by google, MIT and few other US based universities.

This sounds quite interesting. Do you know if they have a course in Photoshop? I really want to learn how to work with it but it is quite complicated and confusing for beginners.
I am going to have a look and check what is available there.

Well done skysnap, they sound like very interesting courses. Have you been practising what you leant on the Android Development course?

No, I've never even heard of Udacity at all. In fact, I've never done any online courses at all, but it's definitely something I wouldn't mind looking into, just as long as they are accredited by a recognised awarding body and the courses are reasonably priced. Well done on completing your courses, @skysnap :)

Yes I have already created two apps and I am making use of that knowledge to even write tutorial and articles. My youtube channel may show some of the videos examples of what i have learned. Including fully featured app.

I prefer Udemy over Udacity in terms of programming courses, I think the variety and the way the teachers teach their subject is so much better than Udacity's. Both are good though!

Which courses have you done there and would you recommend them? Also have you completed any courses on Udacity?

udemy lacks quality. Most of the udacity's instructors are university level professors and teachers. In case of udemy most of them are just into it for money. So they don't specifically have a good content. Besides some of the courses on udemy are overpriced for the quality in offer. So i'd not choose udemy if I had money and require serious degree.
