Postby germainebull » 13 Sep 2016, 18:03

Various electronic gadgets are bound to break down in a terminal manner at some time.
How do you dispose such dead electronic gadgets?

This may sound irresponsible. But, I don't have a definite plan of disposing my electronic waste. My waste typically finds itself in the trash bin.

There are a few local places where I can donate break down or unused electronic gadgets. Obviously, personal information should be completely wiped off first before taking in to any place.

We have people willing to take it to reclaim the gold and do quite well.

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

Hmm. What gold is there to be reclaimed? Do these people give you something in exchange?

I have never really had a phone that I used until it was no good any more. I just pass them on to my relatives who are always grateful for them and when I upgrade I usually keep the one before just in case something goes wrong with my new one.

I only had one pc before my present one and I gave that away too.

I usually give my electronic waste to my father, he has machines which can extract copper and gold from all of these dead devices. He makes a fair bit of money from that.

My electronic waste I usually send it to recycling, I know like @oldbuddy said that some electronic devices have valuable components but to be honest I don't know which components are, how to remove it and where is it possible to sell.

I give it to my computer technician.I think he collects and sells it to a setup that makes use of this waste.
