'Power saver' option increases screen brightness. Why?

Postby germainebull » 18 Sep 2016, 07:56

I've noted that, whenever I choose the 'power saver' battery scheme on my laptop, the screen becomes brighter. This is surprising as I associate a brighter screen with high energy consumption.
Why does my screen become brighter when I move from 'balanced' scheme to 'power saver' scheme?

I concluded my screen getting brighter was when I plugged in my power supply, no matter where I have the settings.

I guess it's the power plan settings that can be changed. High power consumption may have reduced brightness than the Power saver plan.

I believe you are right that brightness will suck out more power from your battery. Try to go into settings, or click on that battery icon to do a personal customize option, adjust how you want it, and tick the box to whatever your liking!

My laptop automatically goes softer in brightness when I unplug from the power supply, thus, the battery lasts me a bit longer.
