Since yesterday, one of my PCs is making an extended ringing sound whenever I switch it on. While making this sound, the computer screen is displaying a counter for MBs. This ringing is stopping once the computer has counted the total number of memory capacity in MBs. Can someone explain what the problem is?

I mean.. that's probably a sound from your CPU doing a lot of work but it's hard to tell from the details you've provided. Can you give us your setup?
