Opera Max

Postby Sam » 25 Sep 2016, 10:06

Is anyone using the Opera Max app? (http://www.opera.com/apps) It claims to save you a ton of data by compressing app data through Opera's servers (similar to what they do with Opera Mini). However... a lot of traffic is now encrypted so I can't see how that would work very well.

If you are using it is there any noticeable impact on image/ video etc. quality? How much data do you save?

THanks for sharing this. I have unlimited data so data overages don't affect me. However I assume that this will load websites faster than any other browsers. I'll try it out.

Eeeh.. never got the chance to try it because Lightning Browser has always been great for me. It's the same as Opera Max, a really minified browser that doesn't use up a lot of data.

These are useful posts for people who normally use their smartphones to do heavy browsing. I however don' fall in this category.

No I don't use it because I don't like Opera as a browser. I am loyal to my chrome and firefox broswers, more to the last one I may say.

I do almost all web access over Wi-Fi (since I am home most days) so bandwidth has not been a concern.
