What do you mean? How did you lose it? Did you forget the password and it's locked you out?

Yahoo can be a little weird as I hadn't logged into an account for years and then had deleted many of my emails, but not from the sent folder. It was all very strange, but I think they have had problems.

This is super interesting. I din't know there was a penalty for failing to log into a yahoo account for a long time.

I'd like to know whether this was by design or by default.

You can if you either added an alternate email address or your mobile phone, I think you're out of luck if you haven't done any of these but don't take me for granted.

If you don't use that account for long I don't think so. I used to have an Yahoo account and stopped using it for more than 2 year than later I tried to get it back but had no luck with it. Now if is just an account you normaly use like the other members said you can try to recover de data if you had an alternative email address in your Yahoo configuration account.

Did you forgotten your yahoo mail address or just a password. If you type your email add and it has an error, just click the forgot password, however Yahoo is kind of strict to ask you some questions. You must know the answer to it. If it is not retrieve, make a new account and email Yahoo support about the lost email or account with your name, city, birthday and everything you filled it up from it.

You can check with Yahoo Support. They note that you should never call a phone number posted online claiming to be them (it isn't). Instead, they say go to their help/support desk.

You can also contact them on certain social media sites. Go here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN26180.html and scroll down for links.

Actually I lost it because I didn't log in for more than six months. After sometime when I logged in, it said you cannot be logged in. Still do I have a chance to recover it?
