Windows on phones is pretty much dead

Postby FuZyOn » 07 Nov 2016, 17:58

Windows reached 1% market share, the lowest it's ever had. Why do you think they reached this level? Bad direction, bad luck?

I had a couple of Nokia Lumia phones in the past and although they were ok I would say they are better for someone who likes the uncomplicated approach. They are really easy to navigate but if I remember the camera was poor on my 520 model. I gave mine to my 9 year old granddaughter and she loved it.

I also used a Lumia phone once, I really liked the UI of windows mobiles. I think they couldn't compete because of the lack of apps in their market. If they are to compete they could allow installations of androids apps as well? Or else improve their windows store both in quantity and quality.

I cannot think of a single friend of mine who has a Windows phone. I don't think that Windows has ever been a very popular OS for phones. Although I like Windows for my PC, I think that Android is a better choice for mobile devices.

I have never used a Windows phone I remember there was a time I almost bought it but someone discouraged me, so I wouldn't say much about it.

Well, Samsung and Apple ones are of the majority here. They're literally everywhere. I guess Windows need some kind of non-mainstream features implement to their phones to actually make humanity jump ship lol

Also, I wonder if Windows would be less secure on a phone than Android or iOS. Since most viruses are written for Windows, using Windows on your phone may make you more vulnerable to viruses.

I have a Windows phone and I absolutely love it. Would also recommend them to anyone! Mine's a Microsoft Lumia and it does everything I need it to, it's fast and even has a decent camera for what I need. It might be dead for popular apps and game-wise, but it's a pretty good phone otherwise.
