Your Perspective on the Nature of Gaming

Postby Canaria » 18 Nov 2016, 14:36

By gaming, I meant the video games, not the outdoor ones :)

What is it to you? Do you encourage gaming to younger generation? Why?

I am of the view that all video games are a waste of time. I am not at all attracted to it at any point of time.

To say the truth am not particularly impressed with the way kids and even some grownups have embraced gaming in homes. For some it has literally taken over kids that even outdoor games make no sense to them. I.don't encourage them now and also as the years go by I will not encourage them. Maybe I incorporate them with other games that will get them physically stimulated. Indoor games have become like an addiction the kids can't do without them and this makes them lazy and dormant which is very risky they could easily become couch potatoes.

I think you can learn a lot from video games. Some studies show it to be true, in at least some ways (better hand to eye coordination, etc.).

I also think that moderation is important. Kids can enjoy a game without being glued to it for hours on end.

I used to play some arcade video games when I was a kid but not much into hardcore gaming. Nor would I encourage anyone to use them.
I'm more of a outdoor sports guy, so I'd prefer these over any game anytime.

I am of the opinion that computer games cause players to disregard physical forms of exercise. I thereby frown whenever I come across a youngster who is hooked to gaming.
