Dynamic ip for modem

Postby germainebull » 25 Nov 2016, 03:33

I've been marked as a 'cheater' by more than one PTC sites due to the fact that my ip address keeps changing (is dynamic). This is because I use a modem stick. Unfortunately, all the PTC sites that have banned me have not listened to my explanation.
This is one of the reasons I've resolved to abandon PTC sites.
How has your experience been?

I have a standard fiber optic connection with a fixed IP address, so the question has never come up for me.

Hmm.. Apparently my internet relies on PPPoE connection, and there is dynamic internet protocol option as well. Maybe you can reconfigure a workaround too.. Perhaps try changing it to static. Ah this might just help you http://corz.org/network/static.ip.address.php?page=all

Good luck!

I may actually try re configuring the settings of my modem. I 'm however unsure if this tactic will work as my service provider instructed me to set my modem to dynamic.
