PDF Reader

Postby shamzblueworld » 05 Dec 2016, 07:54

PDF readers I believe are essential software of PCs now. Do you use pdf readers? Which one is your favorite?
I am looking for a good free software.

I am using adobe only and it is convenient for me so I don't spend time for searching related other Softwares. Thanks.

I rarely use it, but I have Adobe on my system. It's never let me down, so I've never had reason to explore alternatives.

Adobe Reader is Bloatware (old, slow and a huge file) so I switched to a free copy of Foxit Reader years ago and never went back.

Hmmm, sounds good. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look into this reader. Adobe updates are annoying. I don't much like PDFs anyway (will usually try to find the info elsewhere if that's what they have). I guess they do have their uses though, so it makes sense to have something to open them with. Less bloat is always good.

I use PFF's extensively to create special reports and ebooks to give away or sell. I make them with Libre Office Writer that can export PDF's directly. If I do a capture page for a list, it almost always includes a free giveaway.

I agree about adobe reader. I have also tried Foxit Reader and currently using it too. But I've just seen some reviewing rating NitroPDF quite high too, has anyone tried it?

NitroPDF has a 14 day free trial, but it's $159.99 to buy.

I have adobe but I don't use it very much. I don't really deal with PDFs unless I have to download my taxes or something from my children's school. I definitely wouldn't want to pay that much for something that I can get for free.

I have been using Foxit as far as PDF reader is concerned for several years already. I uninstalled by Adobe Reader when I happened to come across this in the Net. At least I have Foxit which around 49 MB as compared to AR which is a big file.

Then the review I read was clearly misleading. It was of free pdf readers. It did not mentioned there that this can only be used for 14 days for free.

The reason for that is obvious, someone wants you to try it and upgrade so they can make a commission.

I generally just use Adobe Reader. I've never really tried any other PDF readers. I rarely have to use PDF files anyway.
