Postby niche » 11 Dec 2016, 04:19

Do you know of any good software which can be used to detect and recover the deleted files on the hard drive of a laptop . The files were deleted by a hacker

Aww! Sorry!
Hackers can be a real pain. I hope you've instituted relevant measures to secure your laptop.

I'm however not aware of the software you require. I'm also sorry for this.

Recuva is a decent prog. If it wasnt overwritten in the HDD it can recover most of the stuff.

Deleted files actually are there somewhere hidden in the HDD. They could be recovered by a software or an application designed to recovered deleted files like Recuva. But the problem is in order to recover those files being deleted you should know their file names to rename them if not I don't think if you could recover them.

I don't understand this bit fully. After viewing the deleted files, can't I read their content to determine what they are?
