Oh, yes. Money transfer through Mobile Phone is also done here in the Philippines. We have Smart padala and GCash.

I haven't used it personally but my husband did. When someone was about to send him money for some online game items that he sell, he went to the Smart Padala center here in the neighborhood. He asked for a reference number. I believe that like in any other remittances, it is a unique number generated for single transaction. Then, he gave that reference number to the sender. The sender then gave that reference number to a Smart Padala center in their area and remitted the cash. Once a confirmation SMS was received, my husband returned to the Smart Padala Center and claimed the money. So no ID was needed.

Mobile phones have indeed become a part of our everyday life. It has its advantages and disadvantages. And the worst disdvantage is that it is causing marriages to break because people are forgetting what it means to communicate to on another and enjoy each other's company. Otherwise it has saved us in so many other ways the only thing is it should be used in the right way and at the right time.

I would not be without my phone because it can be a life saver in emergencies. My partner's mum was taken ill once but she managed to get to the phone to call him on his mobile so he could rush home and take her to hospital. For that reason I feel very insecure without mine.

There are lots of advantage I have on my phone right now because when my laptop is damage, I can work on my sites as long as I have stable internet. I can even watch movies. I can use it as an alarm clock, calculator, storage of files like music, videos and pictures. I can even use as a flashlight.

When I first had a cellphone, it was just calling. then texting started becoming a little popular. a few years later, the smartphone was invented. computers used to be a big thing but have died down in recent years since the tablet was introduced. I still don't have one. I have a desktop, 2 laptops and yes a smartphone. I use them all but mostly my smartphone for texting . not so much for talking. its a great thing

I couldn't be without my mobile phone for a single day LOL I may not necessarily use it for most of the things the OP listed, but it's pretty important to me. I mean, how many people even have a landline these days? My phone is my torch, my watch, my mini computer device with which I can surf the net, my camera; that's on top of being a phone that I use for texting, whatsapping, calling and listening to music if I ever wanted to. A neat little invention, for sure!
