It used to be the case that some batteries would last longer if they were regularly fully discharged. With the latest technology, I don't think it matters much when you put them on charge. I've had my iPhone 5S for over 3 years, and it gets put on charge every night. Also, it used to be topped up at lunchtime, when I was using it more heavily. The battery still lasts very well for the whole day.

I just charge my phone all night. I know it's probably not the best idea, but I can't figure out a better time to do it. I don't want to have to carry my charger around with me all the time.

Depends really. I don't charge my phone overnight anymore. Sometimes I will charge it when its 40% and I'm going out later or when it just runs out

I have set an alert such that when my battery level reaches 30%, it displays a particular icon on the screen. I thus frequently charge it when it hits the 30% level.

Yesterday when I visited my parents my phone was at 20% so I charged it to 60% before leaving just so it could be charged a bit. Sometimes I charge it at 50% or lower.

when it is 20%, you charge it , would it last the whole day eventhough up to 60%?

Or runs out the battery even faster?

There is no fixed rule for me but I never let it go below 40 anyway. I keep my phone's battery charged as soon as I feel it needs a recharge.

My personal experience is with 10%. I have found battery remains good that way. I don't know if we should do it at 5% or so. Because at that point discharging goes fast.

I let mine get really low before I charge it (around 10-14%) but I never let it fully discharge. I always charge it until it is 100% unless I am in a hurry to go out. I annoy myself sometimes as I am just ready to go out the door and realise my phone is nearly dead!

I am not as organised as most of you pals. I therefore often find myself having allowed my phone battery to run to critically low levels.
Generally, I connect to the charger when I realize that I may not be able to make or receive a call owing to low battery level.

yeah, I did the same too. When the warning message keeps beeping at 15%, I will wait till 10% and start charging to 100% but now I noticed that the battery runs out faster when the WIFI is on

When my battery reaches 15%, it switches to battery saver mode and has an orange bar across the top. When I see the orange bar, I know I need to charge my phone soon.

I have a samsung galaxy and it is almost 2 years old. I find myself charging it multiple times a day. I don't know if the battery is old or could it be the apps I run. I use a lot of them :)

Yeah, I don't bother with mine unless I see a warning. Then, I still usually wait a little. It depends on whether or not it's convenient for me to charge it right then or not.

I keep my wifi off by default and only turn it on when I need it.

As well as turning off wifi and Bluetooth if you're not using them, it's a good idea to check how many apps are updating in the "background". The iPhone has settings for this, and I guess other makes do as well. Also, check how many of these are using cellphone data - the cellphone signal usually drains the battery much faster than wifi in my experience.

Unfortunately, it is not practical to turn off the cellphone signal as this would negate the very reason for having a cellphone.

My normal routine is use it all day and then plug it in over night, regardless of percentage, but it's usually around 35%.

Ideally, and this is how it is on weekends most times, I don't charge my phone until it dies or is at about 10%. I do this on the weekends because I work Monday through Friday and having a phone for emergencies isn't needed. I'm a home body.

I do this because, at least in the past, it would make batteries last longer rather than making them drain over time.

I don't know how people can wait till their phone is completely dead to charge it. I usually charge my phone when it's at 15%, although I also sometimes charge it when it's at 40% or 30% in I get the chance.
