Office 2013

Postby earthsalt » 26 Feb 2017, 14:01

I recently installed Office 2013 on my new laptop. I am glad to report that this version has many advanced features. For example, when you open a recently closed file, Word 2013 provides you with a cute notification that takes you directly to the last place you were on that particular file.

How cool!

I am still using the old office too, most of the functions that I had learn in school, are still useable here, the newer version, you have to hunt down to tools and shortcuts which are hidden somewhere

If you like office 2013 then you'd love office 2016. I have used both and found 2016 wiht lot of interesting features.

I agree. I guess I will take considerable time before I am able to use Office 2013 with the same ease I had when using Office 2007.

Office 2013 is definitely good and comes with great features, unlike previous versions. However, I do not find it good for editing pictures compared to Office 2007.

This may be true.
I should however say it has proven excellent so far with respect to most other basic applications.

Office 2013 can't get better!
Take the 'intelligent' language component that straight away gives you a synonym for a plural term. Earlier versions, especially Office 2007, required you to change a word to its singular form before you could see its synonym.

I have also realized that Office 2013 deletes files with one click. It is not like earlier versions that used to as you if you want to delete a particular file.

If this in an inbuilt quality of Office 2013, I am hesitant about embracing this software. I don't want to accidentally send my useful files to the dustbin.

This is a useful feature especially for myself who has to look up the synonyms of words often. I dare say Office 2007 is not very efficient in facilitating this task.

Despite its shortcomings, Word 2007 does the job of looking up synonyms fairly well. I declare that it is a handy tool especially for ESL users.

Hmmm.
Why would you want to stick with an aged, largely outdated software? I urge you to gather the courage to dump Word 2007 for some modern version of this software.

It is not like I have much of a choice, friend. I am not sure that my computer storage capacity would allow for an upgrade.

I see. I advice you to consult a knowledgeable person on this matter. It is not nice to lag behind when your colleagues are having machines with highly superior performance and capabilities.

I will implement your advice. Take note that this will not be because other people are using advanced machines. It will instead mainly be because I feel the need to change m,y current technology.

Office 2013 does not require much space. If you can cut some apps like visio and all. You can get upgrade without much issues.

This is another first for MS Word 2013, at least for the novice me. I have no idea what this is all about.

I am thinking this is an option for signing into your Microsoft account. Don't confuse this with your gmail account. A Microsoft account is slightly different.

If your copy of Officee is not registered, then better not use that option. As that option is only good for registered users and also it is only meant for backup online.
