I have one of my laptops that does not allow me to connect a mouse since I am virtually using Modem internet always. The laptop has only one port suitable for connecting a mouse. I am wondering; can this laptop work with a wireless mouse? Has anyone ever tried this?

most laptops are able to use wireless mouse. Maybe the USB speed is not 3.0, I had this problem with my bluetooth dongle too until I change to another laptop with faster USB port, the device is working well

Instead of purchasing a new laptop, it is possible to modify the port to enable it have greater speed?

I bought a wireless keyboard with a free wireless mouse. The keyboard is okay, I'm still using it. But when I test the mouse, it seems that there is a problem in the signal because sometimes it doesn't work. I'm still using my old wired mouse.

As per my experience, the laptop (any laptop) has its own drawbacks. All along I have been working on desktop only with 'wired' keyboard and mouse and like it.

IDK I've used one before but it just didn't seem to work as well. It seemed to be a bit temperamental and that just won't do for me. I can't even say it was durable, so when it died on me I swapped back to a regular mouse.

This must have been a very painful experience, considering that wireless mice are rather expensive.
I am now professionally skeptical of wireless mice.

It all boils down to the make/model of the mouse in question here. It could be that this mice is/was of low quality.

This malfunction could explain why you were given this mouse free of charge. They say that 'free things aren't really free' for a reason.

Yes if it has built in bluetooth card, it will work easily.
