'Protected View'

Postby earthsalt » 17 Mar 2017, 05:32

I have noted that any files I download on my Windows 2013 computer are indicated to be in 'Protected View' mode. What is this all about?

I guess this phrase means that your document is in a situation where it cannot harm your computer in case of malicious items such as malware.

Hmmm. Would this not be a tall order? I doubt any serious malware would be addressed by this 'protected view' feature.

There you go again! It is always useful to give the benefit of doubt to entities. Otherwise, we would live in a hugely insecure, uncertain world.
I advise you to seek experts' views on the efficacy of this feature.

I guess you are right. But please note that it is also useful to adopt a reasonable level of professional skepticism. This would ensure that you don't fall for ideas or entities that are not worth your time and/or intellect.
