Artificial lungs

Postby earthsalt » 25 Mar 2017, 15:35

If you have a problem with any of your lungs, you can ideally purchase an artificial replacement that can fit inside a backpack.

In exciting concept. But, I have done research and found that this artificial lung has been successfully tested in sheep.
I hope it works in human beings.

Yeah, I too think the same. Because the medical field has improved a lot and the value of life has got much importance with the new advanced facilities.

I don't think this is available for humans yet. It is still in experimental stages. I found this article which explains how it would work should it be introduced in the future for humans:

Cool concept. If they can recreate every body part from artificial materials, would you imagine what life would be like? This certainly wouldn't help the high population problem.

Nice the question is how much does it costs, for sure this is not affordable for the common mortal. Unfortunately this world works around money, if you have it your chances of survival to certain diseases increases. I've seen this happen with my father, he needed an eye cirurgy and was placed in a queue for years, after he died I received an letter setting a date for his cirurgy :(. The same is happening to my mother, while she has to wait for an operation her neighbor who has money went to Spain and paid for his cirurgy.
