Spam emails

Postby Sainfai » 02 Apr 2017, 13:07

How do you deal with getting a lot of spam emails on your main email? Do you just delete them one by one?

I filter my email so that unimportant messages do not show up in the Inbox. If there are lots of unwanted messages in the Inbox, I try sorting the messages by sender, and then by subject line. Many spam messages have similar subject lines, so this helps you to select multiple messages and delete them.

If you use Thunderbird or similar email software, it will "learn" when you mark messages as spam, so that more of these will be filtered automatically. I think Gmail works in a similar way. These days, I rarely see any spam in my inbox.

I also face this but thanks to my email service provider it blocks the spammy emails and store that to in a folder. Also if someone doing spam then i block them so their emails directly goes to spam folder..

Everyday I receive a lot of scam emails and everyday I delete them all at once. There is nothing much we can do about this, sometimes I unsubscribe from mailling lists I've never subscribed but sometimes that doesn't work. So the best option is to select all the emails and delete them.

Not that many spam emails get through on my main email account. If they do, I report them as spam, and then they rarely get through again.

You might want to set up a separate account to use for registering for stuff. That way, all the spam can go to that account instead of your main one.

Using Gmail helps considerably. They filter out most spam emails and then separate Social + Promotion emails from your main inbox so that it doesn't become to cluttered. :)

You could setup your own email server so that you can manage the spam filtering yourself...

Which email provider are you using?

I hardly get spam emails in my main email inbox. they go to my spam folder. Once in a while, I have to look in my spam folder if I am waiting for an email that might not make it through :D

I always mark them as spam and trash them straight away. This helps a lot, and I notice rarely the same sender keeps returning. I love my Gmail account because it seems to do a fab job of filtering them, so that makes it easy for me to just empty the lot each time I log in :)

I get stacks of spam but I just go through them every few days and delete them. I have a gmail account and some sections I can delete all in one go as I know there is nothing I need there.

I have only been using Yahoo. I guess it's worth it to give gmail a try sometime.

I usually delete all the emails that arrive in the spam folder at once because clicking on any of the spam emails is risky as it may plant a virus or a malware etc. So it is better to delete all those emails without opening them.

Yeah, that's the problem. Sometimes they do go into the spam folder which you can just completely delete with one click, but other times they just go in the main folder of the email and get mixed up with important emails.

Setting up you spam filter accordingly is your best bet to managing the storm of spam emails. Gmail is especially good at facilitating such filtering.

It happens to all of us. We get caught on an email list of continuous spam. Usually linked to a hack or breach in data either held by a social platform or ISP provider.

Initially, what I do is block the email address with my email contact management program. If that doesn't work, I get in touch with my ISP provider to see what they can do on their end. Usually, they reset my IP address. Combine that with restarting my router, it sometimes does the trick.

I see my Gmail account's very good at filtering junk out. But my Yahoo account's seriously annoying me at the moment because I see the same spammers returning to my inbox even when I repeatedly mark them as junk and EVEN block them.... :wtf: grrr!!!

I usually let gmail work on the spam mail. I have unsubbed from PTC and other type of site and mark them as spam. So works for me.
