Does anyone have tips for growing a charity facebook page? It's the regional branch of a large international charity and I manage their page (hint... think Children). The page only has a small number of likes and there isn't enough interaction for my liking..

Another page I manage is for a not-for-profit shop. The branding on the shop isn't particularly good. Any ideas for growing this page?

The best bay to grow Facebook pages are with "attractive posts" that people would like to share.

I have a Facebook page that has been inactive for a year, it is still getting likes and shares. I believe the Facebook page has been discovered by the #hashtags that shared the page/posts, which made their friends do the same.

Yep, the best way to get followers seems to be following others with similar interests. I haven't found any other breakthroughs so far. I mean, yeah, there are ways to get people, but I presume that you want real followers that are going to stick around and interact.

* * Make sure after your create the page you share with all of your friends and make sure they understand that it's for charity. Most people are very happy to show support for a charity work and also suggest the page to friends and family in their network. If you are on Twitter, tweet about it.

Also, don't just share it one time. Go back about a few weeks later and check to see who liked and who did not like. Those who did not like the page, send them another invite. Sometimes people don't notice when they've been sent an invite. They are not ignoring you. They're usually active doing something else. So invite them again.

Growing a page in Facebook isn't easy, nowadays. Facebook are interested in promoted posts, so most people that follow us aren't notified... I agree with @hugop tips. That's good tips.
I also partcipate in debates and comment posts in other pages. Sometimes my participation "call" people to see my page, and sometimes they start to follow me

From my experience so far only sharing works. With sharing you get likes and reshares which bring more people.

I agree with the attractive posts which should be interesting. As for promoting, tap your social media friends for this so they can share your page.

This is a great thread through which some of us can learn a lot! So what are people saying about boosting your posts via Facebook, you know that service where you pay about $3-5 to have your page or specific posts boosted? has anyone used it and is it any good, something Sam and indeed all of us could benefit from?
