* * When Pinterest first started, folks kept saying you needed to be
invited by someone. I didn't know anybody!

I boldly went straight to the site, clicked on a contact link, and asked if I could join. They let me fill out a form. I waited a few days and to my surprise they sent me a notification that I had been approved for an account.
The rest is my Pinterest history.

I've got a few things pinned, mainly various creative hairstyles and romance novels. Although I rarely visit, when I do, it can never be a quick visit. I always find I get locked in and can spend hours on there LOL
* * It is addictive! You can get turned in so many directions. First you're looking at chicken recipes, next thing you know there are cool vintage photographs, then you find some wonderful nature photographs, and on and on and on. You have to push yourself away.

I think it's a good idea to keep separate pages though. Those who want more info on my topic probably don't want to see my DIY projects and recipes.

* * My account was personal. Then converted to business. But there was no way I was giving up those boards that had my personal interests collected on them (like Legends, Myths, and Folklore OR Black History OR Education). Since I'm an affiliate marketer and affiliate links are now allowed, every now and then I see if I add a business-related pin (or aff link) that relates to the pinboard.
If you have time to maintain separate accounts and that keeps things straight for you, then do it that way. But it would be much too time-consuming for me to have more than one Pinterest account. I tried to maintain two Facebook accounts once and it almost drove me bonkers!!

* * My Pinterest account was actually started because I wanted to support my grocery and gourmet affiliate marketing website and share some products from the site. I have several food-related boards with all kinds of recipes. Also, I pin to Group Boards as well.
