Any good MMORPGs to suggest?

Postby thisnthat » 19 Apr 2017, 15:16

I'd love to find a new MMORPG. I don't have the time to invest in one like I once did, but I wouldn't mind finding one that I can just play casually. It's relaxing to me and more fun than watching TV, so I would like to find something that I can have fun playing without being competitive or having a big time commitment.

What games are you playing? Do you have any good ones to suggest in this genre?

Well depends on the type of MMORPG you like. I heard Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade is a nice one but so far I didn't try it. My friends also talked about Revelation Online and Devilian Online as nice ones. I think the best way is for you to do a search on Google and see which ones are more actractive to you.

Have you tried Guild Wars 2? I was able to download it for free, create an account and I played it with a friend then alone. I kind of lost interest but it was okay.

Yeah, I've searched google, lol. I was more interested in hearing personal recommendations from people who tried various games. :D

I've heard about this one, but I didn't realize it was free to play. I might have to check it out. It's not pay to win, is it?

I am not sure what pay to win means. It was a friend who suggested it to me for we could play together. I think some stuff is probably not usable for a free account like mail perhaps but I can't say for sure. I only played it for a week then lost interest but it reminded me a little of WoW but was different too. I was able to create an account for free and not provide any type of credit card type info and download the game for free too. So from what I can see form my experience it doesn't cost anything.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like fun.

Since I don't have the luxury of lots of time, I won't be playing competitively anyway. Since that's the case, I guess the pay to win stuff doesn't really matter so much.

Pay to win basically means that there are powerful items (that make you more competitive) that you can't earn in game but have to pay extra for. In a lot of games, mail, cosmetics, etc. are for sale, but you can still grind out powerful items in order to compete. You can "win" by skill not by how fat you wallet is, lol.

I want my character to be good because I played well, not because I threw some cash at it. :D

I don't know if you ever do offer walls on sites like Swagbucks or Grindabucks but there is some browser multiplayer games listed you can play and make some quick cash for playing for 10 minutes or getting to level 10, etc. I wrote down a list of ones I will try, some are MMORPG and some maybe not as much. The games might suck though since they are browser based but I can't say till I try I guess.

Hmmm, that might be fun. I just meant in general, but if I can get paid to play that would be even better. :D

I've seen some other games that pay to play, but they seemed tedious and grindy. I'll have to check out what you mentioned. Thanks.

Allods Online is a good MMORPG, in my opinion, of course.
I played it for a while, it's addicted.
What i liked the most was PVP, but sometimes it was difficult.

I like PvP too. What was difficult?

Is the game challenging? How much does it cost?

What about World of Warcraft or Guildwars 2. They have a lot of quests and side-quests you can complete. Guildwars has world vs world if I'm right where you fight against other players to capture land, the concept is like Planetside 2 but then in a MMO. About the multiplayer of WoW I don't know that much so you should find out yourself if you're gonna play it;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I played World of Warcraft for quite a while. It's not as good as it used to be. That's why I need a new MMORPG. I want something similar to old WoW.

I have a friend who likes Guild Wars 2 also.

Tell me more about Dragon Nest, please. What's the game like? What's the objective?

It's an mmorpg that has a storyline, you choose from 9 different character/jobs as you level you can learn different skills, and you choose another job that will make your character more stronger. Watch some youtube highlighs of the game to get some info. If you can manage some really long grinding then this game is for you.

Okay, it sounds similar to WoW but more grindy. I don't really have the time to devote to long grinds, at least not in one sitting. Is it set up in a way that you can play a little, leave, come back, and pick up where you left off? Like, you could take ages to level and stuff but you'd still have fun?

I'll do that. I'll check youtube. Thanks.
