Which social media sites are good for sharing our online content and which one are useless and do not yield any result for our efforts? I found twitter works to some extent.

I think it depends on the type of content. Pinterest can be good for some things, but it might not be as good for others, for example. It's all about demographics.

I share mainly on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Redditt. But if I'm being honest, I'm not sure if any of it is helping drive traffic to my site LOL I agree with thisnthat, it must have something to do with the demographics, but I'm still getting to grips with it all. It'll be interesting to see what others are doing and what works for them.

Depends really on the content of what you are sharing. Remember to be careful sharing photographs as I think ownership moves to the social media site after you upload it on their. Facebook and Twitter are probably the best for sharing content (articles etc.) because of how many users you can reach

* * I said this before but I'll repeat myself. Tumblr is a great platform for sharing. Twitter is also a great platform for sharing. The good thing that you can link your Facebook accounts to either site and when you post at one (Tumblr or Twitter), it automatically shares the post at the other (Facebook)! And of course if you have nice images, you can beat Pinterest for sharing.

I mainly use facebook and twitter. It seems it has a good reach to a wide range of people and it mostly depends on the way the content is tailored.
