Sharing Quotes via Social Media is Fun and Even More Fun With the Right Picture

Postby cmoneyspinner » 06 Jun 2017, 02:01

On lots of social sites, quote-sharing is the norm. I noticed a lot of people who want to share a quote, find an appropriate picture, illustration or photograph and place the quote on the picture. Then they upload and re-share.

~ That's what I did with a quote by Zayn Malik (popular British singer / songwriter). I found his statements very relatable. So I picked a free image of an open book and then put his quote on it.

~ Found a Bob Dylan quote and a really cool picture of him and Joan Baez from back in the 1960s.

~ Found a Benjamin Franklin quote and put it on a Benjamin Franklin picture.

Used MS Paint to create the images and then shared via social media or used at my websites or blogs.

It's really easy. How do you share quotes you like?

* * You have to find a good site that supplies free images. At least I have to find such a site, because I am neither an artist nor a photographer, so I can't use my own work. You're right. Sometimes you have to search a while for just the right picture. But it's worth it. I'm just glad my kids taught me how to use MS Paint.

I think canva based images can be lot better. Adding quote on images is very easy with canva. I have found it really useful.

I do that all the time on Facebook, that's why my friends complain I am a bit enigmatic ehehe. The problem is that nowadays you open Facebook and other Social Networks and most of the posts are quotes or life lessons which ends up being quite annoying.

I have to agree because when I am reading blogs, I am relying on pictures posted and sometimes the title it used. Pictures are like the banner of a certain blog. It adds to blog's creative part following the content. I do it before with Pixabay and I edit the pictures. It is fun.

* * LOL. :D :D I hear you. It's like all of a sudden, everybody has become as wise as King Solomon.

I find it annoying myself, so I try not to overdo it. :)

It is a lot of fun and you're right. It is just like having a banner.

These are great quotes, cmoneyspinner! I do enjoy a few wise words, but find there are many people who just churn them out one after the other and clutter my wall. I often wonder if some of them even understand the full meaning of all the quotes they regurgitate or if it's simply done to make them appear smart. In all honesty, it can be annoying.

* * It's good if you can use your own photos. I would love to, but a talented photographer? I AM NOT! Just look at my collection of family photos of people with "red eyes" and the dull fuzzy pictures of places we visited on vacation as proof! Don't know why my husband let me have the camera! It was a waste of film!

If you have a good camera it does most of the work for you.

This isn't a favorite quote so I didn't want to put it in the Favorite Quotes thread. But the quote did strike me. I heard it in the context of a woman discussing the #MeToo Movement. I researched it on the Internet and found the quote with a picture of the woman who actually said it. I'm sharing it in this thread because I think it's appropriate.

If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.

I love quotations, and especially quations on pictures. The picture actually give the quote an extra power to better understand what it is trying to express.

Yes, that is a good idea! In fact I used my son's picture when he was one year old to create a New Year greeting from that ! That was a photograph of my son with new Year message printed on it! Today with so many applications on the net this can be easily done within few minutes! Thanks!
