Since when did email become so essential?

Postby DavidDave » 21 Jun 2017, 17:01

I found it so unusual to find my Gmail with just three emails last Tuesday morning when I logged-in. I didn't even have any in my junk mail so I knew something was wrong.I investigated by going to my ISP's website and logging into my mail there. I was immediately presented with a page telling me that the old mail servers were being merged with the new servers. Now I have an explanation and at least I know that there isn't a fault at my end, but it's very frustrating knowing that some of my emails may have been lost in the ether and I keep thinking that I may have missed something important.

* * UUumm ... I think eMail became really essential when YAHOO got hacked! My eMail is acting sort of funky too! I used to just click links from my eMail messages. Now I have to click and then click again. Must be some sort of security measure. The extra step is most annoying. But if it's in the interests of eMail security, then I'll put up with it. It's just that when you're like me, you get used to things being done a certain way and if you're an old person like me who has already developed habits, you get somewhat flustered when you have to adapt to "something new and different". Anyway, if Martha Stewart can go with flow, so can I!!
