I still learning about bitcoins but for what I understood you need a bitcoin wallet first, then you have to download a program that generates automatically your bitcoin address and it is that address that you give to receive your bicoins.

Bitcoin address is what is used to send and/or receive payments in the bitcoin currency. It is typically a series of numbers and letters. Use an encrypted address which is associated with a passphrase. Their are different varieties of wallets. Some are online (web-based), others are on your computer, while others are neither online nor on your computer--paper wallets. Keeping a piece of paper safe is easier than securing a website or your computer. I believe GitHub and bit address dot org will allow you to create a paper wallet. There are even devices that store your bitcoin such as trezor. You can even store them on a usb stick. There have been a lot of sites offering wallets. Some good ones that come to mind are zapo, blockchain, coinbase, multibit, armory, coin .ph etc. There are also many wallets that are popular for certain locations around the world. It is safer to use more than one address.

If so, I may also go with coinbase.com. I think our friend @suny has also once recommented this site. I will just check up that. If I am correct, no program is needed for creating bitcoin address. Anyway, people in the know may correct me.

Thank you so much @Happyland for this explanation. I have already made my registration in coinbase but I haven't completed it yet due to my doubts.

I heard some negative reviews recently about Coinbase so I am not using it. I prefer using our very own coins.ph.
By the way, Bitcoin address is not an email address. It is the alpha numeric characters which you can also see the barcode. Usually, it has lots of characters.

What is this bitcoin address?
It is a wallet code for bitcoins.

Is it something similar to email address?
If you say so, than private key is a password.

Is one bitcoin address enough for dealing with all the online bitcoin activities?
Nah, better use many. They say it is safer.

Which is the most trusted site to get this bitcoin address?
I think paper wallets are the safest and cold storage vaults.

Please share your knowledge and experience. Thanks.
I don't know much and I am still learning.

did you mean to say that one bitcoin address is enough for all purposes including receiving and making payments?

The first part of reply contradicts with the second! What you exactly mean to say?

Bitcoin address is like your local bank account number. It is used to make bitcoin transactions. Having a wallet app is nice idea but make sure you activate 2FA ( two factor authentication) using your phone number. This is necessary for maximum security of your coin and make sure your device is not rooted.

You heard or read? What are those negative reviews? Share it here so that it may be helpful to others. By the way, is your "very own" coins.ph 100% safe and secure? Have you googled it for any negative review?

Bitcoin address is a wallet where you keep bitcoins and by necessity transfer it to a local currency.
Many countries already already have the bitcoin ATMs so the service is quite dynamic and fluent.
I don't have any remark.
