How to resolve IP address problems

Postby ahmedo24 » 01 Aug 2017, 11:26

I just sign up in site, I received the confirmation mail, I sign in and it was written that I have been marked "cheater". Immediately I contacted their support channel, got a reply to check if my IP address is reading my country. The challenges here now is that I don't know to check it. Please help me out. It a new device no vpn app installed.

You can view your IP Address at this site. If you click the "Get IP Details" button it will show you the country associated with your IP address. Have a look and see if your IP is actually associated with the country you are based in, then contact the site again and explain your situation to them. Good luck with it and please let us know how it works out for you.

By "app", does that mean you are using a mobile device?

A common cause for issues where your IP shows a different country or other IP related issues is because of browsers that proxy requests through servers to compress content and save data. Opera browsers (desktop and mobile) have inbuilt VPN and/or "turbo" features that can make you appear in another country. Other mobile browsers like UC Browser, Dolphin browser (I think), Amazon Silk and even Google Chrome has the ability to compress pages which proxies your requests through their servers.

Like Fergal suggested, first check the website Fergal linked to to see if your country is shown correctly. If not, the site should provide information of where it thinks you are from and who the ISP is for that IP which should help diagnose why you are showing as from an incorrect country.
