That's not something I heard of before. In which country are you seeing this?
I have not heard of this either. Most of the electronics bearing the trade mark are not real products? Generally many companies are facing a similar issue but on a much smaller scale but I am not aware of that specific issue either. It sounds major. I would suggest consumers to buy only from dealers authorized by the company that owns the brand.
What is the objective?
If this were true how could the brand survive for so long and have achieved such immense success?
In their latest earnings filing for 2017 they reported a 10% revenue increase. Revenue in almost all (if not all) of their divisions is up including phones, home entertainment, home appliance and air solutions and even the auto components division. It is the fourth largest company in South Korea. With revenuesapproaching $50 billion.
Is the objective for an unauthorized party to make a cheaper version of a product and put the logo on the product without permission?
I am curious--with revenue of almost $48 billion and rising and most of their products were impacted how could the real brand owner survive? Wouldn't such knock-offs be much cheaper? How about the safety and security of those products such product failures, returns, explosions, fires and other mishaps? You would expect there to be a ton of issues with a problem so deep.
