Playstation 5

Postby ItalianMunchiez » 03 Aug 2017, 14:54

As many of you are well aware of there's already been a lot of talk revolving around Sony's next console, which will inevitably be named the PS5 if and when it's released. While I myself think all of this talk is very much premature, I thought I'd start a discussion allowing us to share our thoughts and opinions on the matter, as well as when we think such a system would be releasing.

I wonder whats gonna be new in the PlayStation 5. The demand about PS is huge because esports ( electronic sports ) got really big so gamers even those who use consoles are trying to get into the competitive scene of many games and that increases the demand of consoles.

I'm gonna be checking out the news about the new PlayStation 5 because this really made me curious now.

It's too quick if it going to be released. PS5 should be shown the respect of been a good game.

I knew how long it took before PS2 replaced PS1.

I miss the good era of the PS2 and PS3. When there was a sufficient amount of good games actually released before releasing a newer model. Them releasing PS5 so soon feels like their just trying to cash in on their own following. As brand new consoles are released, games get more expensive. It's all just good graphics and less gameplay nowadays. I'd rather just emulate and play old games I've never tried playing before than buy a new console.

I agree with some part of what you said about some of the older games having more gameplay than newer games but you got to understand that Sony is an enermous company and they have a lot of employees that need to be paid and how is it that they gonna be paid ? Its by making a new console and keeping the trend going on along with other companies such as XBOX and yeah.. they just want to make money

From a business perspective, I understand their need to generate profit by making the interval between console generations much shorter. However, it has become clear that a lot of people are slowly catching on into their gimmick. There will come a time when people will get sick of buying every new generation and just convert to using PC or another console with much more fun games.

They could also potentially increase sales by having better exclusive games but they can't really get exclusives when they tend to upgrade to a new generation every few years and leave gamedevs to abandon their project since they will be developing for an obsolete system. Either way, the era of "fun" games regardless of graphics is no more as even creativity of games has become so stale. The mere fact that the highest-grossing games are repetitive FPS games already makes it so that other genres won't be able to compete and therefore abandoned for mere passion projects that will not acquire sufficient attention.

This. We never even bought PS4. It was too soon and too expensive. I'm not into buying new games all over again every little while. My older kids are grown and on their own. The one still at home prefers PS2 and PS3, and I'm okay with that.

Did Play Station 4 ever even come down in price?

Ugh, I totally agree that games aren't what they used to be, and that's across the board. Game play first, for me.

We only have a PS2 and my granddaughter hardly ever plays on it because she prefers the Wii. It seems that when a console gets to a certain stage they find it hard to better. They make slight improvements, and then put the price up to something ridiculous.

It reminds of me of when a new TV series comes out, at first it's hot news, then as the seasons go on they seem to run out of new ideas and it gets boring. At least the price comes down when they become older.

In the 80/90s it used to be Nintendo Game Boys and the Sega Mega drive and everyone had a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog! How ancient that seems now. Do they even exist any more?

I have a Nintendo WiiU as I mostly only play Mario games. If I get another console it would be an XBOX. I have never been a Playstation fan. Also if you have either an XBOX or a playstation, most games released for one console usually come out for the other one.

As much as I would desire it to be released now, I think it's not wise to rush it. Let the other ones in the market already sell more before bringing in a new one.
