Disabling AdBlock

Postby raaman » 06 Aug 2017, 18:03

One of the websites I am using says "Please disable AdBlock in your browser". I am using Google chrome. Can someone suggest how to do it? Thanks.

I have adblock switched off in chrome, I just click the 3 dots top right of the screen, more tools, extensions, and there I can enable or disable.

Just click on that adblock icon and a drop down menu will appear. Click on 'pause Adblock'

I would prefer to keep the ad block on to reduce the annoyances. Sometimes remembering to turn the blocking app back on is the problem.

Some sites are depending on Ads for their earnings and so pausing Ad blocks is the way to go. You can always get it back by unpausing

I could see only three 'dashes' and not dots. Anyway, can you tell me what I have to do in 'extensions' or after 'extensions'? Thanks.

I have a feeling I installed adblock and adblock plus myself so when I go into extensions I can see them displayed in my list.

I found this video which may help:

I wonder why I have dots and not dashes :?

I think now I have to follow the instructions given in the video. Thank you for sharing the link.

You should be able to disable it or "white list" a single page, or a single site, if you're sure you trust it (or you make money from it). Otherwise, you can surely find the same info elsewhere without having to disable your protection.

Some websites really deserve some support from us and if we have adblock enabled we won't be able to contribute. I personally don't run adblock and I always pay attention to what I visit. It is true that ads can harm computers and annoy people but still its all up to being aware of what you are doing/visiting.

OP: You should be able to disable adblock for a certain website in the settings. I think they have easy instructions on that . Be sure to check.
