Can you suggest an alternative for Google search?

Postby meensusa » 20 Aug 2017, 12:30

Majority of the internet users only use Google as their primary search engine. Sometimes I feel bored to use Google. I tried using Bing search and Yahoo search. But it didn't provide me a clear result as Google. Have you tried any other search engine. Please share your views.

I still think Google is the best, despite any flaws. I just don't think you'll find another that compares. Google is to search engines what Facebook is to social media. Giants are giants for a reason. ;)

The only reason I tend to use another search engine is if I get points or some other benefit for doing so.

The only other search engine I use other than Google is Bing. I use Bing to get the reward points for Microsoft Rewards which used to be Bing Rewards. I get a $5 gift card for having so many points. I like Bing and think it is just as good as Google. I have never used any other search to really compare though.

There are plenty of search engines available. Some sites have malware such as cool something I don't remember the exact name but be careful what you use. Some sites are stand alone search engines while others have a diversified product and service mix such as Microsoft and Google. Some are more well known and bigger than competitors for two main reasons:
1. The site is well financed by the capital markets, private equity and hedge funds.
Money provides access to better technology, expertise, management, and marketing which can positively influence the quality and array of products and services that a company offers. It even provides access to political capital.

2. The site was created to be a game changer. Game changers can come along and take an idea or product and make something much more attractive and steal the show. A game changer still needs capital to make things work and to reach the masses.

A game changer will even benefit from free advertising because the media will report on their every move (usually the reporting is positive). Millions of people will hear this good news and will not want to be left out. They will buy the product or use the service.
These reasons apply not just to search engines but to almost any situation. For example the playing field for a small social media site has become uneven with a certain major one because of some distinct major differences. Only a few of which I have noted.

There are smart people with bright ideas but unfortunately don't have access. Most of the major products are backed by big dollars. Many companies have the financial power to do as they please. They can do what they want when they want as long as they don't over step any laws, regulations etc. But again having political capital (which they have) helps to lessen the burden.

In my opinion, google is the best for now and it would be hard to get other alternatives to match google. Yahoo, bing, duckduckgo, yandex are all their anyway but still google is better. I don't know why you feel bored using google sometimes anyway, you should be bored with the search engines giving you limited information rather. ;)

To be honest I don't think there is a better search engine than google. I have used Swagbucks to earn points on their site but it doesn't bring up such good results. Bing is now available for the UK but I don't think it's that good.

I use Google search too. it is not easy to use other engines to search what I want. I hate to wait, prefer to see results right on the screen.

I think there is no better search engine than Google. It gives more information than you ask for, and it's pretty easy to use.

Of course so far there is no search engine better than Google.it gives details to your search and the language it uses is quite understandable. Unless am being redirected to Bing search by some other websites, i don't think other search engines gives me what i want apart from Google.

If you're more concerned about privacy, a good google search engine alternative is called duckduckgo.

Not sure what you expect a search engine to do. It's not there to entertain you, it's there for you to look up information. As long as it is providing the info you want it's serving its primary function.

I rarely use the Google search engine because I want to be paid to search. I get paid to use the search engines on Swagbucks, Inboxdollars and GiftHulk. GiftHulk is a site for international members. You can read more about being paid to search here:

There are many alternatives to Google, if you get the same results that is another story. I use several search engines like Ecosia which uses over 80% of the profits from your web searches to plant trees where they are needed most. I also use DuckDuckGo because it doesn’t retain its users’ data and I use Vimeo for video search. There are many other search enginges but only tryig them you will find the best alternative for you.

I have to agree with most of the comments here, Google is BOSS! For me there's just no contest. I don't even have to think about it; if I want to do a search, my go to search engine is Google. Because I have absolutely no complaints, I never think of alternatives.
