Sandboxie

Postby Happyland » 31 Aug 2017, 06:04

I have heard that some people use a service called Sandboxie. They say it is a way to protect your computer from virus and some malware by running things in a virtual environment within your device rather than your drive. Has anyone used it?
How effective is it?
Does it slow down your machine?

Well, I never really thought of using it for the sake of protection against malware. I wouldn't entirely rely on it if you asked me. It did not slow down my PC that much. It depends on the applications that are running though.

Back then, I mainly used it to run my game clients twice, so I can play two accounts at the same time. Hehehehehe.

I just use the normal anti virus systems. they work good and they always catch the viruses that try and get in :)

That's what I thought it was for, gaming. I think that's the only place I've heard of it. I didn't know it could be used for security purposes either.

I use a good AV, anti-malware, and CCleaner.
