I'm not sure whether higher pixels contributes significantly to picture quality. The arguably best smartphone cameras: Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 7 both have much smaller MPs (16mp and 12mp respectively) than others which have 21mp+ cameras.

Great but what do you think of small phones with little mp. These phones don't give high quality pictures, its mostly blur. However, when compared to high mp phones, there is always a difference. Well, just like you said the difference might not always be significant.

Yes, more the pixcels the denser the photograph. It is like using a photo camera with higher resolution camera with a sensitive film. More pixcels gove better resolution and the picture won't get distorted if it is enlarged. That is why the cameras with good resolutions are expensive! Thanks!
