Have you ever studied or prepared for a CompTIA IT Certification? If so which one?

What's your opinion on those certifications? Do you believe they are of value and worth working towards?

I was thinking of getting one of CompTIA's cert, what's stopping is my current company doesn't seem to really value those who have this certification.
But I do think that it will be an added bonus if I am going to look for another job.
