Turn the brightness down and turn the battery saver on.

That is the best way and you charge with it original charger and don't use it while charging it

I charge my phone everyday. My phone is 2 years old. It still works good other than charging it daily. Try clearing your cache one in a while . it might be full :)

I've never had a phone that drained that easily. Is your phone old? I always make sure that I don't leave any apps open that I am not using as that can drain the battery. Have you installed anything that could be sucking the life out of it recently? I got a fitbit which connects to my phone and since I have been using it I notice that my battery drains more quickly.

My phone is 10 months old and haven't installed any such site that drains the battery faster.

I keep my phone plugged in 24/7 when I'm home so it's charged at all times. I also have the brightness dimmed and the battery working at half capacity when at home.

Well, if you are using an iPhone, a technician, would be able to change batteries which is a far better option then buying a completely new phone! :$:
