A dumb question, but I'mma ask it... Where can I get a cheap Macbook

Postby Hanyouyomi » 28 Nov 2017, 08:06

The title speaks for itself, as I'm wondering where I can purchase a macbook for somewhere around $100 or so?

You might be able to get one on ebay or some other second hand site but the trouble is you don't know what kind of condition it could be in. I prefer to buy my computers new even though it might cost more because then if anything is wrong I can get it fixed under the guarantee.

Yeah they seem to be be cheaper on eBay or other second hand sites. Amazon's out the question though as they're $300 and above...

Is it even possible to get a working macbook with that price? Here in Malaysia a used 2011 macbook cost around USD250; but it is common for us in Malaysia to pay significantly higher price compared to others especially in USA. So, I guess it also depends on where you're from.

Well yes, but they're usually 8GB, 60GB 120GB, or 160 GB memory hard drives according to my finds... No I'm working with a mac that memory of 2GB and 800 MHz, with 320GBs of space. I have an external hard drive of 120GB and its not enough to house every file and app on my Desktop, which gives me the impression that a 60GB, 160GB, and 8GB of memory space won't house much data... But at the same time too, I have two 1TB external hard drives... I'm trying to find a conferable Macbook companion.

Buy a second hand if you really want a cheaper price but check first if it's in good condition and ask the original receipt so you could know how old it really is. You may find second-hand Macbook on eBay or any website that sells or trade laptops.
