Low Battery Phone - Safe?

Postby Rosedeth » 18 Dec 2017, 13:48

I would like to ask, Up to what percent does a battery still safe to use on an android phone?
Because I have read an article that it is not good to use your phone if it is in low battery level.
Is it 20% and below or 10% and below?
Coz me, even if I know this. I still use my phone until 10%.

I sometimes use my phone until it's 1%. I don't see why that's a problem? Where did you read the article saying it's bad for your phone?

The danger of using your phone is making a phone call when the battery is less than 5%.

I have no problem as long as I can complete my conversation going on. The only problem I see in using a phone is you might cutout midway while doing something important.

Yeah! Maybe. Because I think phone uses more energy when making a call and we usually put our phone directly on our ears... Am I right?

If you use your phone to make a call while it's charging, I heard there's a chance it'll explode. But other than that, I haven't heard of anything.

I guess it is safe at 10%, because I have been using mine below 10% and I cannot see any problems on that.

I think so too.
And as I have observed that using my phone while charging causes it to overheat.
Excessive heat will probably degrade the lifespan of our batteries.

Kindly elaborate:
- Do you mean I can incur bodily harm if I use a phone when the battery is low?
OR
- Are you referring to the possibility of the phone dying when I'm using it?

If you want to properly use your phone's battery you should use it this way:

Li-ion batteries: keep them 50 percent or more most of the time. When it drops below 50 percent top it up a little if you can. Do not charge it all the way to 100 percent because that will shorten the battery’s lifespan. A good range to aim for when charging a Li-ion battery is from about 40- to 80 percent in one go.

If you want to recalibrate the battery you can charge it to 100% once a month.

Hope this helps.

I mean, bodily harm. For higher risk it may explode or the more amount of radiation it will emit particularly when calling.
