Touchpad Problem

Postby aecel » 26 Dec 2017, 12:00

I've been using a mouse on my laptop for two years now because touchpad doesn't work anymore. Left click is okay but the right click didn't work at all. I've been trying to install different touchpad software but nothing has changed.

My laptop is Dell Inspiron. Do you have any ideas on how to fix the touchpad?

Try tap with two fingers for right click.

I'm sorry about your problem.
Also had a similar problem on a Compac 610 device.
Tried may tricks to no avail until I retired the laptop.

It did work one time but after I reformat my windows it didn't work again. I've tried many tricks too, nothing works and now I'm stuck with the mouse pad.

This happened to me on my Chromebook. I got a makeup wipe and ran it across the pad getting into the gaps. Then I dried it with a piece of kitchen towel, turned it off and when I turned it on again it worked. I think mine was just sticky where I eat around it though. I don't think it's the same for you.

Lucky you because it worked again. Mine I think it has technical issues because when I reformat my windows it didn't work. No matter what software I install nothing works.

Then is probably some physical error. Probably some wire or pin is disconnected. Depends on type oh touchpad.

I don't know how to operate my touchpad , in fact. Thus, I prefer to use an external mouse.

I think there's no physical error it's actually working. Imagine the mouse it has right and left click. If you click the right the properties will show I don't know what's called but something like that, then on my touchpad it's actually working if open a folder or clicks something it's functioning but if I want to see the properties it doesn't work. I've read articles that software must be compatible with my touchpad I've tried much software to install but nothing happens.

Maybe is only right button broken. It doesn't have to be all buttons broken.

It's kind of expensive to consult a technician here and sometimes they didn't even fix the laptop but you have to pay them for consultation. So I'm taking my luck here if someone might know how to fix it. I can still wait to find some answers. I'm not in a hurry. Haha

Since you've been trying lots of things but didn't work then better stick to the mouse, there no other alternative.

if the touchpad is not working properly probably it has something damaged inside, software won't solve the problem. Have you checked with a technician for a touch pad replacement?
