Downloading YouTube videos

Postby germainebull » 19 Feb 2018, 05:13

I have watched some publicly available YouTube videos that I'd want to download and save on my computer.

My question is: is it possible to download such YouTube videos and store them on my hard-disk?

Yes you can, however, you have to get a free video downloader frst, I have used Raga in the past to download videos from Youtube. It looks like you can do it from Google Chrome too but I haven't yet figured out how to do that so far, mainly because I don't have time. You can try it out or just Google free Youtube video downloader and look at reviews and go for the one that is best.

There is quite a few ways to download from YouTube. Like using IDM. If you can't use IDM, use websites like y2mate and there's more sites like that. There is a site called saveforum that gives you video download link for the youtube link you provide it with. You can also download audio/music from this websites.

You just need to add 'ss' to the video you are willing to download. Let's say that the link to the video is https://www.youtube.com/abcdefg. To download the video you will just have to type ss before youtube in the link meaning your link look like this https://sswww.youtube.com/abcdefg. You will then be redirected to another site from which you can download the video.

You can't download live streams, You can only record them.
I use an add-on which helps me a lot to download YouTube Videos without converting them, It's called "1 click youtube video downloader".

I don't have to convert videos very often, so I'm fine with the time-consuming technique but thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, the only way to save live streams would be to record the screen and go afk until it ends. But it wasn't for something I needed or was going to use myself, so I didn't even try.

There are many free programs. You tube converter is one. You convert the video in mp3 or mp4 ( audio or video). After you convert them you download them in your computer. It's so easy.

you can download youtube videos as long as they are not live streams as FeedMeMore said. If you do a little research on Google you will find some on line websites where you can download the video for free. You can also use a browser add-on to do so, it depends on the browser you are using.
