Of late, I've noted that a particular zipped folder containing numerous files has inexplicably changed from MS Word format to TMP format.
As at now, I can't open this folder. ):

Can you advise on how to convert this TMP folder to MS Word format?

If this helps, I'm currently using MS Word 2013.

If is zipped, than first unzip it using WinRar or 7zip. Just in case, create copy of zipped folder before anything.
