If you like Pinball...

Postby Braids » 16 Mar 2018, 22:15

...There is a Pinball simulator very easy to install and use called Future Pinball.
Anyone can create tables for Future Pinball so some are original and others are a copy of Pinball machines from the arcades.

If you are interrested what you have to do is:

- Create a account in http://www.pinsimdb.org/ ( is not a earning site so is not a ref link )

- Go here and download 1 of the 2 versions of future pinball ( dont know if one is better than the other ) http://www.pinsimdb.org/pinres/entry-16 ... able_files . You can also download from the original site ( https://futurepinball.com/ ) but those versions from the pinsimdb probably are better because they probably are updated.

- Install Future Pinball ( dont install in the program files, install in the default that i think should be C:\Games\Future Pinball\ )

_ Right click in the Future Pinball icon in your desktop - properties - compatibility and check the run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 3 and check the run this program as an administrator. This is important because if you dont check those boxes the tables wont run/work.

Now you only need to download the tables you want in the http://www.pinsimdb.org/ site and extract them to the folder Tables that should be in C:/Games/Future Pinball.

To use the Pinballl Simulator File - Open to choose the Table , F5 to load the table and the default keys are 5 for credits, shift keys for flippers, space "shake" and from F1 to F8 change the views. Some views follow the ball, others not. It's easy.
There is a better explanation here http://gopinball.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=6054

Some Tables are good, others not really. Two of my favorites are Medieval Madness ( is from the arcades ) and Metal Slug.
A bad thing is that i think most of the tables are only for 1 player so you have to play alone but im not sure about this

Some tables:

Edit : There is a new version of the Future Pinball installer. This version have a"thing" called BAM included ( BAM = better arcade mode ). Looks to me, what this BAM do is "the glass" looks more clean, more real. Also i think a few or some tables have things that only works with this BAM. Try both installers and see what you like more. Some years ago I spent many time playing pinball. I played many different games, especially a pinball game that was installed with windows... I was really good playing that table (3D Pinball Space Cadet) :)
I'm curious about this games/tables that you suggest. When I have some time spare I will try it :)
Thanks for the tips!

When I was younger, I used to go to the corner store and put a quarter in the pinball machine and get 2 plays. If I hit a certain score, I would win a free game. Once I played so well I had 5 free credits on the machine. The owner of the store gave me 75 cents for the games. Back then to an 8 year old kid was a lot of money. it was 1979 :)

Hi @bendahara!

This topic also made me think about this game again :) I like this kind of games and love to play them because I don't have to think... I'm only concentrate in the game and the ball.

I'm thinking in install this game in my windows 10 and starting playing it again. I Made some research and found this site that teach us how to install it in windows 7, 8 and 10...

I am not sure about the installation as i played it on win 95. I have bad experience of a game actually converted into a win 7 compliance game. The moment i installed it, it corrupted my laptop which keep giving me a blue screen (Rare for that to happen in window 7) so i had no choice but to restate the PC back to the factory setting.

Wow!! I hate Blue screen of death (BSOD) :( One month ago I had 3 in my windows 10...
I had to make many tests and many searches to solve my problem. Fortunately wasn't a hardware problem, but drivers issues related to my GPU... and sony vegas...
Did restoring factory settings solve your problem?
