Thanks to technology we no longer need 'His Master's Voice" to listen to our favourite numbers. It was quite a job having to tune up and most importantly store those records which would stop playing should there be scratches on them.
We could not even afford that but our neighbours had one and we always visited them and they obliged. We see strides now. While LPs continued gramophones were replaced by decks made by many companies. I remember Philips stood out. We had a deck too. My husband was crazy and had a huge collection of records.
It did not take long for tapes to make their presence. We gave away our LPs along with the deck and got ourselves a new one to play tapes on . We still have it. In fact we got it from Singapore where we went on a package holiday
CDs came next and we started collecting them. But with free music available on the Net we are like kids not knowing what to choose.
Wonder what will be next. You are right home theater music is there to stay atleast for now,
