Starting from BASIC we now see a host of computer languages of whICH Java seems to top the list.

When I started learning computers I did pick up smithereens of Basic and Dbase in the DOS mode and little did I know that not having plans to work in the computer field this knowledge would be of no use to me ALSO specially when Windows came on the scene.

Having said that my joy had no end when I successfully created a programme to convert figures into words using the BASIC language. There are 8 bit binary codes for every alphabet and that is how a programme is built using those codes

It is amazing that computer languages are based on these binary codes with just a 0 and 1

Not any more. At one time I knew enough to pass the required courses that I had to take at university in order to complete my degree program. But once I graduated and did not have to use them, I forgot!

No, I don't know any computer language as I never felt any need on my offline job for that! I feel satisfied with the fact that I can use windows quite satisfactorily which serves my purpose! My job is a sort of field job which requires no computer language! Thanks!
