Do you still print pictures?

Postby Netherrealmer » 08 Sep 2018, 11:16

Wanna know why I am asking this question? My house is near a photo album factory. Guess what? That factory has been around for 80 years but it is now closing down. Apparently people will now rather upload pictures on Facebook or instagram rather than printing it and putting it on a frame or photo album.

Do you still go to Photo development centers and have pictures printed? Photo development centers around my town close down when film cameras became obsolete.

I print photos and put them ion frames all the time. I still love having memories available at a glance without picking up my smartphone or accessing a computer. Hard copy photos will never go out of style for me and they are as handy as my nearest Walgreen's store.

In Croatia we still have places where we can print images since they are needed for making personal ID or passport.

Yes, but it is on my own printer already. At the current time where a printer is a little cost now, I think photo printing company is dying.

This is the same story every where. Since the time digital cameras have come up most of the color photo labs have faced the closure so also the big the Companies in Photo Industry like Kodak. Now every one is having sophisticated printers and papers at an affordable cos, so no body is dependent on those studios or labs! Thanks!

Well, I still long to have pictures printed. Yet I have not got it done since last two years. Main reason is that taking prints costs money and we have hundreds of pictures of last two-three years to sort, as we have a tendency of taking too many pictures with a smartphone as compared to the standard cameras of the yesteryears.

I do not keep a printer at home, as the last time I kept a printer, it was rarely used, and after spending some money on refills and tackling printing issues, I gave it to the ragpicker.
Now, if we want print for our kids' assignments, we go to a neighbourhood printing shop.

No I don't print pictures anymore. It's very difficult to preserve the printed pics when they become old. Actually I take pics of my old pics in order to avoid permanently loosing them. Some pics are so precious that you never want to loose them.

It has been long time since I got any picture printed. I needed few photos of my children to make a photo collage for their room. That was the last time I got it printed two years back.
Now the charm of photos is lost with mobile phone cameras.
