Annoying notification

Postby germainebull » 14 Sep 2018, 08:50

I sometimes encounter the following notification when conducting a search on the Chrome browser:

Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?

IP address: redacted
Time: 2018-09-14T08:46:33Z
URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=risk+of ... e&ie=UTF-8

To revert to normal, the browser requires me to complete some captcha 'to prove I'm not a bot'.
I wonder what this is. Any ideas?

That is an issue with google, You need to contact your ISP to fix that problem. For now stop using google as search engine. Use Bing for a while so Google will stop suspecting you are a bot.

I have been using google for a while now and never encountered that issue. I also use bing as a search engine just to see what other results I get if I am searching for something that will help me fix something :)

That issue comes up a lot it seems on certain gpt sites now. It's a shame really, I usually have to go through two or three rounds of clicking on pictures to get in.

Unfortunately, hackers frequently gain access to computers via a wide range of attacks, and then use that access to use the computers for a wide range of robotic unauthorized Internet hacks across the globe.

If you normally search for a few sites but then have a project that causes you to far exceed your usual usage, it now raises a red flag of a potential hacker attack. If your usage has a sudden surge, Google and other providers use that page to stop the hackers by asking you to confirm that it is indeed you, and not someone else using your computer.

It may seem a nuisance, but it is there to protect you and your own computer from unauthorized usage.

Blame the hackers, not the providers.
