Apparently Facebook is becoming less popular to teenagers

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Sep 2018, 08:05

Wanna know the reason why? :P

They do not want to be on a social network where their parents, grand parents, aunts and uncles seeing their online activity. Because of the older members of their families are on Facebook, they secretly make accounts for other social networks like Instagram to avoid having their timeline getting a like from their parents and that being seen by their friends. Others just don't want the embarrassing posts of their older family members to be associated to them.

Imagine you are an 18 year old girl making sexy selfies and out of a sudden your Grandma will comment to lecture you about modesty.

Most teens are now transferring to Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok.

It is not a lost to Facebook though since they own Instagram.

If Teens want their parents to not see their online activity go to Myspace.

Oh so that's what's up! I was wondering what happened to everybody. I didn't know they were hiding from me. :D . I don't have any of those other accounts you mentioned Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok. Whenever I receive an invitation to sign up for Instagram it's always from my older relatives though. They are over there too.

Yes I already heard about that facebook issue :)
Imagine what is when someone post a photo and all family members comment calling "baby", for example? :) or "my little baby". We have to admit that if we had 18 years old we wouldn't like ;)

However, in my opinion Facebook have bigger problems that that one... at least in my opinion. Their algoritm are killing our power to choose what we want to to see. They really want to control what we see :( That's the main reason I don't like facebook...

Kids are getting smarter everyday. When the old fellows think they are catching up with them they then move on to something else. Actually facebook has become a platform for the mature now more than the youngsters.

Is Myspace still active? I have seen many people switching to Instagram, and in India, WhatsApp is all the rage as of now - which interestingly is part of the Facebook group now!

Yes, youngsters are much more tech savvy, though in some ways, most of them are a bit more on the rude side when talking and dealing socially.

Myspace is ironically still active and has users but the activity is struggling. Some teens are using it to hide from their parents.
