WINDOWS OR LINUX

Postby jpk7 » 28 Sep 2018, 21:15

About to buy a new laptop shortly. Am wondering whether I should by a laptop which has Windows pre installed or should I go for Linux. I am sure most of you will recommend windows but was wondering if I can first try Linux because they are cheaper than the windows based laptops, what do you suggest?

I have never used linux so I can't compare but I have been using windows since 3.1 which was in 1998. Right now I use an older laptop with windows 8 and I like it. I also have a laptop with windows 10 and not too crazy about it. You may like it more than me. It is just my opinion. Good luck and happy shopping :)

Laptop has it's own basic price. Other changes are coming in price of OS or other softwares. Best would be for you buy laptop, try Linux (it's free) and if you don't like it than buy only Windows and install it.

I have never tried using Linux so I can't compare for now. I have been using Windows for many years now and I have never encountered any problems using it.

Well, if you are not into coding or Programming or Scientific research, I would say that go for a Windows laptop. Else, if you are into one of the things I stated, then a Linux one might be a good option.
