Facebook data leaks

Postby jpk7 » 29 Sep 2018, 07:30

Facebook announces that it has discovered that the data of around 50 Million users has been compromised. This is the second time when such a big breach has been reported. How can Facebook be so careless about it's responsibility to safeguard the data of the millions of users worldwide. Will this news have a negative impact on the use of Facebook?

It is just proof that no site is too big to be targetted. It also highlights to dangers of all these "social logins" that sites use like Spotify etc. If a site like Facebook gets compromised, users accounts are at risk at other sites connected to that account.

Definitely it is a safety breach and they have accepted it. It has definitely damaged their rapport and damaged their accountability.

Other companies too share users' data. It is just that a few more popular companies come into limelight more.

One year from now, Someone will send you emails that they know your password in facebook and extort you for funny just like the Yahoo mail users they extorted. Change your passwords for now.

This is one of the reasons why I don't like using Facebook anymore. Plus, people tend to be toxic and overly dramatic most of the time.
