Do you still send personal emails?

Postby Netherrealmer » 01 Oct 2018, 18:21

Most of my friends prefered being contacted in Facebook rather than in email. They only want their emails for notification of bills and registrations.

I emailed a friend and that friend told me to contact him with Facebook instead because he rarely check it and his only reason for having a gmail account is to post comments on Youtube.

I want to know if do you still send personal emails?

It could just be me, or it could be generational difference, but I personally prefer talking in person or at least on the phone, and second, exchanging email. I do not have a facebook page, specifically because I actually studied the privacy policies and opted not to join. I have a cell phone that can accept text messages, but I hate using text because it is such a pain to type anything on those tiny buttons.

Using voice to type the text messages seems dumb to me. If I am going to say it, why say it to a machine that always uses wrong words when I can just talk on the phone? "Clumsy Thumbsy" says it all on that option.

So yes, I still communicate by email online, but only as a second option. I prefer actual voice communications on the phone or even better, in face to face conversations.

Yes I do because of privacy questions. Facebook records all your activity, they keep even deleted pictures on their database, if people would know how dangerous if Facebook they would not even use it, just a matter of fact I used to have an account without any private information on, I used just to chat with some friends about subjects not related with my personal life. I ended up closing that account in the same week when the media announced that Facebook was hacked. My advice if you like to chat use whatsup, if you have to deal with something private use email (if possible not even from Google).

Though I send personal eMails ... they're not that personal. It's just an easy way to communicate with some of my relatives and friends.

I contact most of my offline day to day friends and even some far off living friends via the social media App : WhatsApp. I rarely send a personal email now a days, though it was more common till 2014.

Yes, for business purposes. Like sending big files to someone or sending some formal letters.

Yes you are, we don't use emails for personal purposes anymore. No one will ever think of writing a personal email to his friend or a relative unless there are some documents etc that he wants to send. I prefer Whatsapp over Facebook for personal communication.

Don't really, as all the documents can be transferred via Messenger, Whatsapp, etc, nowadays.
Email only for business purpose.

Yes, I do. I still send a personal email when it's needed. Just like last time, I sent a personal email to my employer. It's where we discuss work-related stuff.

I do. I remember, once I shared on this forum that emails will continue to exist just like printers do. Personal emails are vital. They are just like text messages.
