Any ideas to preserve old pics

Postby jpk7 » 13 Oct 2018, 17:23

We all have old pics of our childhood or our family which are very precious and we never want to loose them. Such pics are very special as they have lots of our old memories associated with them. Right now I just take a pic of these old pics by my mobile and store them so that I don't loose them permanently. How do you guys preserve your old pics

Scan them, upload them on your social network of choice. You can also go to those photo restoration shops to make hd versions.

Yes that is the best way to keep old pictures although the scanning looses some quality. I've done that to some old pictures I have at home

There are places that specialize in restoring old photographs. But I don't know how much it costs. They've been around for a long time. I remember years ago one of my brothers took some old photos and had them restored. Some "old school" folks don't care too much for digital pics.

Scan them and keep at least 3 copies with different hard disc to diversify the risk of getting lost in the future.

Just like others, you can scan your old pictures and save it on your hard drive. You can keep it in a special box, too. Or in a nice photo album.

you can scan and upload them on your computer or laminate them for longer preservation, that way you will have the hard and soft copy.

I have scaned them and stored in a different files. I manged to laminate few pictures and they are looking ok so far! But laminating thousands of picture is not possible ! So I thonk scanning would be the best way of preserving them!
